Claire joined Burton Copeland in 1990 and has over 30 years experience in Criminal Defence.
She has vast experience in handling high profile Crown Court cases.
Claire is an Accredited Police Station Representative and regularly attends police stations in order to advise suspects on a wide range of criminal offences.
She is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives and was delighted to have been made Partner of the firm in 2024.
Notable Cases
R v P – represented a Defendant charged with blackmail and supplying class A drugs. Defendant acquitted after trial.
R v C – represented a Defendant charged with a serious armed robbery. The majority of the evidence was based on technical cell site analysis. Defendant was acquitted after trial.
R v A – attended the police station to represent a suspect arrested under the Terrorism Act. After lengthy interviews over 48 hours, he was released with no further action being taken.
R v R – represented a Defendant arrested for numerous serious armed robberies and murder at the Police Station.
