Summer walk at Sutton Hall, Macclesfield

At Burton Copeland, we know the value of building a happy team, and we also love an excuse for a get-together! So a summer walk through rural Macclesfield, incorporating a stop at Sutton Hall pub, was the ideal way to spend a sunny Saturday on 31st August.

We started the day at Sutton Hall, a one-time manor and convent which is now a country pub. This historic manor house has a rich history dating back nearly 500 years. In its life it’s been a manor house, family home of the Earls of Lucan, and a convent. It’s now built a reputation of being one of the finest country pubs in Cheshire and listed in the ‘The Good Pub Guide’.

The walk lasted approximately two hours, with the route taking in beautiful Cheshire countryside as well as Sutton Reservoir and Macclesfield canal. We then ended back at Sutton Hall for lunch.

As always, it was great to get out and socialise with our colleagues, as well as getting some exercise and seeing a beautiful part of the world that’s right on our doorstep on the outskirts of Manchester.

For us, it's personal.
