Damian Gwiazdowski

Having relocated to Manchester in 2024 Burton Copeland were delighted to recruit Damian who brought a wealth of qualifications and experience to the criminal department.
Damian studied at Leicester University between 2017 and 2021 where he completed his law degree and obtained his LLB. Damian has a passion for criminal law and went on to complete his master’s degree in 2023 with a dissertation focussed entirely on the subject. Damian continued his studies in law and successfully completed his Legal Practice Course (LPC) in the same year.
In 2021 he worked at Leicester Crown Court as part of the administrative team where he gained experience working behind the scenes at a large court centre on the Midlands circuit.
In 2022 he joined a law firm in Leicester where he worked as a paralegal for two years developing his experience and ultimately becoming the lead paralegal within the firm, primarily dealing with Crown Court cases. During this time, he gained significant knowledge and expertise representing client charged with offences and appearing at the Crown Court. Damian has worked on a full range offences from the more minor, through to more grave and complex crimes. These Included offences of conspiracy to supply class A drugs, kidnapping and murder.
He has also developed a significant knowledge of the Sexual Offences Act having defended those accused of many different types of sexual offences including the most serious allegations of rape.
Damian is fluent in Polish and also has a basic knowledge of Spanish and Japanese.
Damian is currently completing additional training and soon hopes to become qualified as an Accredited Police Station Advisor. He also aspires to admitted as a Solicitor in England & Wales in the very near future.
